National Water Commissioner Whilst in Newcastle last month, Commissioners met with the the Hunter-Central Rivers Catchment Management Authority (CMA) and the Hunter Water Corporation.

Commission welcomes new science advisor

Ralph Ogden has joined the Commission as Senior Science Advisor on secondment from eWater CRC where he is the Executive Manager, Urban and Ecology. Previously Ralph was Director of the Knowledge Exchange program for the CRC for Freshwater Ecology and a Research Scientist at CSIRO.

Western Australia trials water quality tools

Western Australia's Department of Water is trialling the Commission co-funded Ecotoxicity toolbox - a series of specialised water tests to determine the toxicity levels of chemicals associated with recycled water.

Seminar explores Australia's new Integrated Modelling System

Executive Manager of eWater Co-operative Research Centre Dr Peter Wallbrink, praised the benefits of a common modelling approach in a science seminar at the Commission this month.

Tools for managing water quality

In recent years, the Commission has invested in a collection of tools and guides to improve water quality management and support the safe diversification of urban water supply options. There are now 14 publications on water quality available.
