Announced projects include:

Contributing to improved management and delivery of environmental water objectives and outcomes across Australia.
Providing a State Water Information System to offer a single access point for water information from the various agencies, which supplies a national model for the integration of physical, chemical, biological, economic and social water parameters.
Developing a hydrological model that will provide empirical information about the ACT's water resources.
Contributing to the finalisation and activation of the single State Water Register and retail account for Victoria. This project is also listed under the water accounting theme.
Enabling work to develop the water accounting model for national adoption.
To develop a comprehensive Water Resource Observation Network (WRON) compliant decision support system for the improved management of water use and flows in the Condamine-Balonne catchment over the next three years.
Developing guidelines that specify minimum requirements for metering installation configurations.
Reporting on current and future water availability in the Murray-Darling Basin.
Improving the in-field verification of non-urban meter accuracy.
Accelerating the development of the National Measurement Institute water metering standards for non-domestic applications.
