About the project
This project will help build knowledge and capacity for environmental water managers and water planners by more effectively delivering water-dependent ecosystem knowledge and products.
This project initially established the Aquatic Ecosystems Advisory Group (the AEAG) which met five times between November 2006 and September 2008. This group fulfilled its role of providing advice to the Commission regarding initial investments and was disbanded.
The Commission now seeks independent expert advice relating to the water-dependent ecosystems theme of its Raising National Water Standards (RNWS) Program to assist in scientific peer review of products that promote dissemination of theme knowledge and products, and to provide strategic scientific advice on theme activities.
This project continues to support National Water Initiative objectives through knowledge and capacity building for environmental water managers and water.
Project benefits
The RNWS Program investment will synthesise materials to inform work on establishing current best practice for determining sustainable extraction limits and the monitoring and evaluation of environmental water outcomes.
