About the project

The Australian water industry has remarkable capability and experience in water policy development and implementation, asset management, construction and project management, design and manufacture of control systems, and monitoring technologies, education and research capability.

With a strong demand internationally for Australian water industry capability, WaterAustralia was established to promote the growth of the Australian water industry by assisting its success in exports and international business. 

This project will provide initial funding to support WaterAustralia objectives. Anticipated activities include:

  • encouraging water industry development, skills and capacity building
  • establishing a global brand that unifies the Australian water industry
  • providing global business networking opportunities
  • promoting Australian water industry capability
  • promoting international business linkages and consortium opportunities
  • coordinating inbound and outbound trade missions
  • supporting business clusters, particularly in identifying or assisting bids for work in global supply chains or participating in international projects
  • providing water industry export support.

Project benefits

By promoting export growth in the Australian water sector through WaterAustralia activities, this project is expected to build national water-management capacity, attract new skills into the water sector and promote industry growth and innovation.
