About the project

The objectives of the project are to:

  • develop a 'road map' of current and future environmental management challenges for large master-planned developments from a multi-stakeholder perspective
  • document stakeholder concerns and issues with water management initiatives undertaken by bodies corporate
  • compile an overview of the impediments to successful integration of strata and community title schemes and relevant environmental, regulatory frameworks for water management
  • develop a system standard for on-site water management schemes of large body corporate developments
  • develop and deliver a series of stakeholder-specific workshops designed to educate key stakeholders on the potential of body corporate led water conservation by disseminating the project's findings.

The project's findings will provide the basis for educating body corporates, developers, regulators and policy makers on design steps that will build confidence in decentralised water management systems.

Project benefits

The project will enhance the knowledge and understanding of strata and community title stakeholders in regard to decentralised water management schemes. This will reduce perceived barriers, provide greater certainty for a range of small to large investors (lot owners to property developers), and deliver better technical solutions for environmentally and economically efficient decentralised water management systems in urban communities.
