About the project

This activity includes 2 projects that will further contribute to water sensitive cities activities and support implementation of NWI paragraph 92. These projects are:

  • Project 1: Water Sensitive Urban Developments (NWI paragraph 92(iii)) This will be an in-depth study to draw out key lessons on water sensitive urban design developments when looking at problems and practical constraints faced by those planning, building, and maintaining these developments.
  • Project 2: Incentives to stimulate innovation (NWI paragraph 92(v)) This will provide for the development of a paper to review implementation of this action and to provide guidance on incentives to stimulate innovation that will drive integrated water cycle management, including water sensitive urban design.

Project benefits

These projects will provide further guidance and insight into the practical constraints faced by those in urban water management and to stimulate further innovation and capacity building in urban integrated water cycle management, including water sensitive urban design. This will assist in achieving the National Water Initiative outcomes for urban water.
